Technology

The Walton-Verona Schools believe technology has the potential to transform teaching and learning as an essential component in preparing our students to the meet the realities and challenges of the the 21st century.

Our vision is to utilize emerging technologies to achieve the following goals:
Transform teaching and learning in all classrooms to reinforce 21st century skills.
Utilize Technology as an instructional tool across the curriculum.
Provide ongoing, job embedded professional development.
Eliminate the barriers that prevent all students from having equitable access to technology.

As a student, faculty, or staff member, you have access to services and tools that will help you protect your computer, safeguard personal information, and secure sensitive data. We proactively monitor the network to identify threats and respond to security issues. We are responsible for helping ensure the computing environment is protected from cyberthreats. In addition, we assist administration with adhering to state and federal regulations regarding technology.

Bring Your Own Device Policy
Walton-Verona Schools currently provides technology that is appropriate and relevant to support instructional purposes. Therefore, the use of personal devices by students is optional. Students who do not participate in BYOD will not be penalized, and alternative modes of participation will be available. Refer to your schools SBDM Policies for more details. Enroll.

Google (Workplace)
Students with a Google account have a unlimited storage provided by Google. Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides allows students to store files in the cloud and make them automatically available on their smartphone, tablet, or any computer. You can work on documents right in your browser.

Microsoft (Office365)
Students with an email account (grades 4th and up) have a 1TB of storage provided by Microsoft. Microsoft OneDrive, Excel, Word, PowerPoint allows students to store files in the cloud and make them automatically available on their smartphone, tablet, or any computer. You can work on documents right in your browser.
