Here’s something you didn’t know you knew:  Today in history, 1964, Louisville native Cassius Clay (Muhammed Ali)became the heavyweight champion of the world, defeating Sonny Liston with a TKO in the 6th round.  He shook up the world.  And, the state bird of California is the California Quail.

Athletic Announcements:

The Varsity Girls defeated NCC last night in the opening round of the All “A” State Basketball Tournament.

o   The Bearcats were led by Maggie B. & Kylie L. with 14 points each, with Haley N. chipping in 12.

o   The Varsity Girls play in the Quarterfinals of the All “A” State Tournament versus West Carter at a date and time to be determined. 

·   The Varsity Boys Basketball team will host the All “A” State Sectional Games tonight versus St. Henry at 7:00

·   The JV Girls Basketball team travels to Holy Cross tonight.

Tennis Tryouts:
Monday, 3/1 to Wednesday, 3/3; 3:30-5:00 at the Sports Complex; Coach Miller needs to know if riding the Activities Bus to the Complex for Tryouts; Must have an updated physical form to tryout.

Anyone participating needs an updated KHSAA Athletic Physical turned in to the Athletic Office. You also need a Covid 19 Waiver Form to participate.

If you are interested in being on the Bass Fishing team, we will have a meeting on March 3rd at 7:00 in the Library.  You need to have a parent with you at this meeting.

Here’s something you didn’t know you knew:  Today is National Tortilla Chip Day and the state bird of Arkansas is the Mockingbird.

The Varsity Boys & Girls Basketball teams will host the All “A” State Sectional Games this week versus the 9th Region Champions.

  • The Girls will host NCC tonight at 7:00, while the Boys will host St. Henry at 7:00 on Thursday. 
  • The JV & Varsity Boys Basketball teams traveled to Trimble County last night and routed the Raiders on both levels.
  • Brant S. scored his 1000th career point in the win. 
  • The Freshman Girls Basketball team defeated NCC last night on the road.

  • MS Track & Baseball will not start until March 1st
  • MS Boys & Girls Soccer will start on March 15th

  • Track 3:30-5:00
  •  JV/Varsity Baseball 6:45-8:15
  • Softball 8:15-9:30 (this is open to all interested in          softball from grades 7th and up)

Anyone participating needs an updated KHSAA Athletic          Physical turned in to the Athletic Office. You also need a          Covid 19 Waiver Form to participate.  Masks are also              required.
