As the Superintendent of the Walton-Verona Independent School District, and on behalf of our Board of Education, it is my privilege to welcome everyone back for another great school year of learning. I hope that you have had a relaxing and enjoyable summer. We are excited to welcome back over 1,800 students to our school district. After all of the planning, preparation, and thoughtful consideration, we are a few days away from Walton-Verona’s official first day of school. During the past several days, we welcomed our staff members back for professional development and training. Staff members had an opportunity to participate in various training options to best prepare them for this unusual school year. As we continue to put the final touches on our preparations, we remain focused on health and safety for all.
Our continuous improvement efforts are critical to our community and our school district. We work hard to ensure that our schools and campuses are well maintained and that our students learn in a safe environment. Our students engage in rigorous activities that foster independence, skill mastery, and personal growth. There are many opportunities for student success embedded in our programs. We work hard to ensure that our students have the necessary skills to be productive citizens in our communities.
As we embark on another school year, we know that we will face unanticipated challenges and opportunities. Please know that we always work hard to meet those challenges and embrace our opportunities to improve our school district. As superintendent, I am proud to be part of a district where tradition is held in such high regard and focuses every effort to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
With that focus in mind, we request that our families and staff do their part to keep us all healthy and safe as we begin the 2021-2022 school year.
