“But words are things, and a small drop of ink,
Falling, like dew, upon a thought produces
That which makes thousands, perhaps millions think.”

~George Gordon Byron

My name is Mrs. Hartman. I teach English III, Honors English III, and Study Skills Junior ACT. I strive to give my students the tools they need to succeed in their academic and professional endeavors along the high school journey and beyond. Virtually all professional careers today require employees to be able to read and interpret some form of written material both quickly and efficiently. In each of my classes, students will explore various pieces of fiction and nonfiction literature to develop practical skills and strategies for tackling even the most challenging reading material. Students will also focus on improving their professional communication skills through vocabulary enrichment, working collaboratively with their peers, and writing for a variety of purposes and audiences.

On this webpage, you will find the syllabus for each of my courses.

Please feel free to contact me anytime. I check my email throughout the day and will reply as promptly as possible. The best time to reach me by phone is during my planning period from 12:05-1:20p.m.
