¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español!
Welcome to Spanish class! I am Mrs. Seal and this is my third year teaching at Walton-Verona H.S. Prior to Walton-Verona, I taught at Newport Central Catholic, Scott, and Holmes H.S. I earned a Bachelor’s of Art in Spanish-Education at NKU. As a student and teacher, I studied in Madrid and Segovia, Spain and Guanajuato, Mexico. My love for Spanish began when I was living in Los Angeles, CA years ago. I met several families from Mexico and instantly fell in love with the culture, even though I didn’t know a bit of Spanish. When I returned to my home town in KY I decided to start taking Spanish classes at NKU. I was soon hired as a nanny with a requirement to teach a five year old boy Spanish, which is when I discovered my love for teaching. After a few years of traveling, I learned my desire was to teach high school students and travel abroad with them. I created an exchange program with a teacher in Spain in 2010 in which students from Spain lived and went to school with students from the U.S. and later in the school year, my students lived with a Spanish family and experienced school life in Madrid. In 2012 I traveled to Costa Rica with a group of students on an educational tour that provided us with the opportunity to explore the entire country.
I am married with two children. My husband’s name is Matt and our children are Max, 12 and Isa, 10. We enjoy spending time together with family, the outdoors, sports, traveling, listening to music, and eating authentic food from other countries.
I am looking forward to another successful year at Walton-Verona and am extremely excited about all the Spanish that will be spoken in our classroom!
